Our Vision for Hallow Health

My husband and I are cradle Catholics. We are parents to three children, business owners, and natural health advocates. Being in the healthcare arena for over twenty years has afforded us much insight into how far off track and how disconnected people’s health and their approach to health is from the God’s Natural Order. We will refer to God’s Natural Order many times because it is the basis for how to live to your fullest potential and how to live according to God’s plan for your life. We often say, “God has a perfect plan and purpose for your life but it is hard to live up to your potential if you are sick, suffering or dead.” This may sound harsh but put another way, God needs no help, just no interference. We tend to interfere. A lot! Be it through free will, ignorance (this is not meant in a derogatory way, but literally that someone legitimately doesn’t know), lack of understanding, and a plethora of other reasons.
The disconnect between mind, body, and spirit is obvious in things like: God in schools, marriage, relationships, abortion, euthanasia, and government policies but is much more subtle when it comes to our health and our healthcare system (it is really a sickcare system but more on that later).
Our vision for the Catholic Church is that it would be a beacon of hope, light, and call people to Christ. To us, this means that people would look to the church for spiritual guidance and to every other aspect of their lives, including their health. As we kneel in the pew after receiving the eucharist, we can’t help but see our fellow parishioners making their way to receive the sacrament. Many of them can barely walk, are overweight, hunched over, have pallid skin, look dejected, and not at all the picture of health. In our perfect vision for the church, those same people would have amazing energy to stand up, walk with health and vigor, and emit a vibration of light, love and vitality. Imagine the people of the Catholic Church having such an amazing level of health that would be so remarkable that people would look and say to themselves, “what are they doing?” and “wow, I want what they have!” Unfortunately, that is not the case. The statistics for heart disease, cancer, diabetes, autoimmune disease, asthma, allergies, autism, and depression are all exactly the same INSIDE the church as OUTSIDE the church. This is not how it should be. When we take the time to really understand God’s Natural Order and how it applies to our bodies, we can change this.
Your earthly body is a temple of the Holy Spirit!
“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been purchased at a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body." 1 Cor 6:19-20
Let that sink in for a moment. When you think of your body in that way, it would be hard to justify treating it any way but with love, care, and intention. It would be hard to knowingly put things that may harm this vessel into it, to neglect it, to have anything less than respect for it. Unfortunately, this is exactly what is happening. We are eating things that aren’t even real food, ingesting, rubbing, and breathing in toxins at an alarming rate, becoming sedentary, allowing our minds to become toxic wastelands, and dishonoring God’s amazing design.
We have a deep passion to share what we have learned with our fellow Catholics so that we can bridge the gap and repair the disconnect that exists between our bodies, our minds and our spirits. We have been able to use our faith as a basis for everything we do in our lives, including how we approach our health. Our passion for health and our zeal for the Catholic Church has spurned us into action. We can no longer wait. This is our call, this is our purpose.
We will do our best to speak with both grace and truth as much as humanly possible. Jesus was able to be 100% grace and 100% truth in everything he did so we will do our best to emulate him. That being said, we will be pointing out some harsh realities that will require you to do an honest self-examination and will challenge you to get uncomfortable so that you can have a breakthrough. It may not be the easiest or most pleasing thing you’ve ever done, but it is good, and right, and holy.
Our hope is that by sharing these principles, we will make the mind, body, and spirit connection strong and better prepare you for eternal life. We love our Catholic faith and want to do our part to contribute to our Catholic community.
